What is a digital platform for learning?
A digital learning platform is designed to provide educators, administrators and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system to create personalized learning environments.
CCS has chosen to use Moodle to power our digital platform. Powering tens of thousands of learning environments globally, Moodle is trusted by institutions and organizations large and small, including Shell, London School of Economics, State University of New York, Microsoft and many more. Moodle’s worldwide numbers of more than 90 million users across both academic and enterprise level usage makes it the world’s most widely used learning platform.
What exactly is in Moodle?
Each core teacher has created a course/class page in Moodle. The entire faculty has worked tirelessly this week to create an entire educational experience in an online format.
Your student will experience daily instructional videos from their teacher, assignments, quizzes, projects, discussion boards and more!
How do we access Moodle?
Students will access Moodle at our specific CCS Moodle page. There are several ways to do this:
1. Go to https://online.casaschristianschool.com/
2. Download the Moodle app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
You can also access our Moodle App Orientation here.
How do we log in to Moodle?
Each student will be sent their username and password from Moodle (these emails will be sent in the afternoon of Sunday, March 29th). There will be an individual username and password for every student – siblings will log on with their personal username/password to access their classes (there are no shared family accounts).
How often do we need to work in Moodle?
Every day that you would normally attend school (M-F)! Moodle takes the place of a traditional physical classroom until we can meet in person again. School continues, and we will take attendance daily. If your student will be ‘absent’ (not doing any work or logging on to Moodle) on a particular day, please call the school office to report their absence at 520-297-0922.
There is not a mandated time during the day that a student must work – they may login and work at any time during the day or night to be counted present. * A student must do sufficient work to be given credit for attendance on that day; logging in alone will not suffice.
We logged in and don’t see anything in Moodle…why?
Even though you may have received your Moodle student login and password, our Digital Platform fully launches on Monday, March 30 at 7:00am.
Classes and content may not be visible until after this time.
You can also access our Moodle Orientation here.
We know that for many families, approaching learning in this way is daunting! Please be assured that this first week will be full of grace upon grace and tons of support as we get going! We will succeed together as we embark on a new adventure.
Be safe, stay healthy and be blessed!
